Lawyers in the Statler family have been serving Southeast Missouri continuously since 1936 when W. Osler Statler, graduated from The University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, returned to Cape Girardeau County to begin the practice of law and was appointed Probate Judge the same year. After serving in the Navy, he returned to Jackson, Missouri and engaged in private practice until he was elected the first Circuit Judge in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri in 1959. He retired from the bench in 1972.
His son, Pete Statler, graduated from the The University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 1966 and served in Navy until 1969 when he returned to Jackson, Missouri to engage in private practice. He served as Jackson Municipal Judge from 1988-1994, and was then elected Associated Circuit Judge of Cape Girardeau County in 1994 and held that position until 2010. He joined his sons in private practice in 2011 where he practiced until 2016.
Travis and Daniel Statler graduated from The University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 2001 and returned to Cape Girardeau County to begin the practice of law. They are the founders of the firm, Statler Lawyers.
